To follow up from the highly successful single No Dog War, King Tide, one of Australia's leading reggae acts are proud to announce the release of their album To Our Dearly Deported. Mixing feel-good grooves with a beachside vibe, this album is named in dedicated to Jamacian born Sean Collins, the band's toaster/ MC, who was deported back to the States after being bailed out of Villawood detention centre to record his tracks on the album.
Ross Ward, performing guitarist, singer and songwriter, listened to all the Roots recordings he could get his hands on from an early age. Ross started his onstage musical career in the late 60’s/early 70`s as fill-in bassist with the Flying Circus. During the 70`s, and as a young professional side-man, he played and toured nationally with musicians and artists like Tim Gaze, Ronnie Burns, Stevie Wright, Blackfeather and Cinamon, plus a myriad of other’s, up to the present time.
Welcome to Casey Deans new EP, all the instruments are played by Casey who also wrote, performed, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered the album. Track 4 was performed by A, Minty, J, Hamilton, N. Morrison and Casey. It was also produced by Steve James at 301 Studios in Byron Bay.
In TRAVELLING SONGS (1994) the song titles say it all; ‘Pig Wobble’, ‘Ride’, ‘Scramble’, ‘Stampede’. The didj riffs are fast, strong, and melodies express the exhilaration of travelling. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) dubbed it ‘jazz goes walkabout’. Besides the pacey didj riffs there’s chunky keyboard, wild saxophone and solid drum playing.
This album features Riley Lee, shakuhachi flute master, in combination with Master Charles and Synchronicity Holodynamic vibrational entrainment technology in the Theta range. The shakuhachi is a simple, traditional, Japanese bamboo flute whose tones are subtle and evoke the essence of meditative awareness in musical form. Track one is "The Fullness of Emptiness" and track two is "Diversity in Unity". Each track is 30 minutes long.
Although now based in Sydney, Sarah McGregor's interest in music began on the NSW North Coast where she was raised by her "part-time hippy" family. Like many musicians, Sarah has a second daytime job.
